These are photos of the ancient Roman city of Pamukkale,
and the Travertines, a series of limestone cliffs and pools formed by the
hot springs located here. Unfortunately for us, they are having a drought
in this part of Turkey, so the amount of water flowing over the travertines
was pretty low (and not that hot). The ruins were quite spectacular, though,
including a 2 km long necropolis and a pretty large theater.
No, this is not a set from the Lord of the Rings...
